We’re reaching out with an important update regarding the course for the Pirate 10 Miler taking place this Saturday. We received news late today from our local partners and officials in Greenville that the greenway section of the course has flooded and is temporarily closed. As a result, we will not have access to the greenway section of the course on race day. Here’s what this means for you:
- The race is still on for Saturday, but the 10 Miler course will be changed and potentially shortened.
- We are currently working with local partners and officials to determine a new course.
- Because of this late change, the 10 Miler course will not be certified.
- If you prefer to run a certified course, the 4 mile course will not be affected by this change and will still be certified. You can switch to the 4 Miler by completing the change distance form available here.
- If you choose to do this, please come directly to Customer Service tomorrow at packet pick-up, so that our team can assign you a 4 Miler bib.
- Double Down Challenge participants, you will still be able to run the 4 Miler and the new 10 Miler course (which may be shorter than 10 miles).
- We will email you tomorrow with additional information as it becomes available.
We understand that you may be disappointed by this announcement – we are, too. But we are committed to making this event memorable and exciting, even with the changes. We truly appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Thank you for being a part of the Pirate 10 Miler, and we look forward to seeing you this Saturday! |
