This is my final update for the Fries Gravel Ride on Saturday!

Looks like we're going to have a gravel party Saturday. We are now up to 15 riders for this destination ride. If anyone else wants to join us, please let me know by either texting me at 919-616-9704 or by email at tonysantalucia1@gmail.com.

I found out a couple of days ago that Fries is hosting the Fiddlers' Convention on Saturday. This doesn't start until 6pm but there are other events as well including the Fries Town Market at 9am-1pm and the 10th Anniversary of the Thunder by the River Classic Car Event 2pm-8pm. Fries is going to be a busy place this weekend and it's a small town.

I don't know how this will affect parking. There is a park by the river with a large parking lot. Our plan is to meet there at 930am. You can't miss it if you look at the RWGPS file.

If the lot is full and you need to park somewhere else, please text me and let me know. We'll wait for you.

Also, remember that we'll have John Fox "Sagmaster" with us so if you need anything extra bring it with you to throw in his car.

September is not too far off and with these beautiful temperatures the last couple of days, I'm getting that fall itch and what better wayto scratch that itch than to head to the mountains for some gravel.

Just a few important points to remember:
- John Fox, alias Sag Master will be sagging this ride for us. This is crucial especially on a gravel ride such as this.
- This is a FUN ride - NOT a hammerfest. If you are one who easily getsimpatient waiting for fellow riders on climbs, this is NOT your ride. There are climbs up to 4 miles long. Riders should not be riding off the front and riding to the top. We regroup at opportune times on the climbs to make sure everyone is safe.
- Speaking of climbs, you WILL get a workout. The route is over 4200' in 41 miles with 35% gravel. The rewards of your effort will be the spectacular views.


I have ridden sections of the route and Dave, Dawn and Todd have ridden the whole route and we all give this an A+. The Grayson Highlands area is gorgeous and worththedrive.


If you want to experience something different other than riding circles around Umstead and you enjoydirt, join us.

Hello Gyros members! I'm looking for support leading an 64m A group(19-20) from Rolesville to Louisburg this Saturday at 8a. It will be a no drop ride trailing the 21+ group on same route. 1 rest stop mile 28. Please text me if available 919-434-4565

A few people have inquired about a shorter option for tomorrow's ride. We will stay on Old Weaver instead of turning left at mile 21, resulting in a 35 mile rout if you return to PUE.

I just receivedan update from Garneau concerning the 2025 bib order.


They are currently in production for a redo and according to my rep, should be done and shipped within the next 2-3 weeks.


I'll keep everyone updated on when I have received and sorted them for pickup.


Also, there are still 5 members who have not yet picked up their jerseys at the Trek North Raleigh store. Please pick them up as soon as possible. I don't want to be responsiblefor kits that have gone this out this far and have not been picked up yet.

We are therefore going to have a staggered start with the first group (A+) rolling out at 830am.

There appears to be some confusion on whether or not there is some sort of registration form for the Mystic Farm ride.

It may be because I used the word "EVENT" in the ride description that is throwing some people off.

To clarify there is NO REGISTRATION FORM which means there is also NO REGISTRATION FEE.

However, it's always nice to click "attend" on either the Gyros or TeamCBC calendar so the ride leaders can plan accordingly.

Treat this as nothing more than a regular club ride. Just show up and enjoy the ride!

Just an fyi, for those who would like to attend the Mystic Farm event but need an easier pace than what was listed, we will now be offering a 13-14mph paced ride!

For those who placed anorder for the 2025 Black, Blue and Olive kit, your order has been received.


The jersey's look great! Unfortunately, we have an issue with the bibs. All colors are NOT true to size. I am a Medium and I could not get them on without stretching the heck out of them. Even a Large was hard to get on.


I've been in touch with Garneau and they are working with me to figure out what went wrong. Possibly, the machine that cuts and double seam stitches the bibs may have cut too much fabricmaking the size run too small.


They are requesting that I send back a full size run on each color for them to check. In any case, they will make things right for us.


This could take another couple of months. I'm not going to have everyone wait for new bibs so, I'll be handingout jerseys so you can start wearing your kit.


NOTE - I HAVE THEM SORTED. I CAN BRING THEM TO A GYROS RIDE THAT I AM LEADING SO YOU CAN PICK UP YOUR JERSEY BUT I HAVE TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE ATTENDING EITHER BY SIGNING UP FOR THE RIDE OR TEXTING ME THAT YOU'LL BE THERE.


IF YOU'RE NOT ATTENDING A RIDE, I'LL HAVE THEM AT THE NORTH RALEIGH TREK STORE FOR PICKUP.
