Accompanying our annual Walk for Hope, the Race for Steak is a USA Track & Field Certified (NC091116NW) run held in Raleigh, North Carolina, with timed 5K and 10K routes and is part of the Triangle Race Series
*. 100% of the money raised by participants directly funds local mental health research at the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Psychiatry. And, as critically, it helps call attention to the stigma and significance of these often invisible illnesses, which affect as many as 1 in 5 American adults.

All who register for the Race for Steak will receive an armband for the post-Walk/Run celebration.
The Walk for Hope & Race for Steak is more than just a community walk/run – it’s a huge fundraiser that directly funds the research and treatment of mental illness. Most of our Walkers raise the money they need to participate; the average participant in the Walk for Hope raises a minimum of $150.
There s no 'run only' option for this year's event.
Online registration for the Race for Steak will close at 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday, October 11th
Prior to Race Day, participants can register, turn in collection envelopes, and pick up T-shirts and event armbands at the Angus Barn. Beat the crowd and save time! We STRONGLY encourage Early Check-In.

Race registration opens at 7 a.m. at the Angus Barn (see parking instructions below). The Race for Steak starts at 8 a.m. To encourage early registration and check-in, ALL Race Day prices increase by $5.
10K Run: 8 a.m. Start
5K Run: 8:05 a.m. Start
Prizes will be announced for 10K and 5K top finishers beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The Walk for Hope features two different routes:
10K (6.2 miles) begins at the Angus Barn on Hwy 70, loops through the Umstead State Park and returns to the Angus Barn. Click here to view map.

*The Triangle Race Series (TRS) presented by Omega Sports & Precision Race allows runners to compete in races throughout the NC Triangle Area to earn Series points and prizes. All TRS races provide state-of-the-art Precision Race timing and results for a premium race experience.
