About SHBHU

Small Hands Big Hearts United is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to nurture children's instinctive compassion to others and the world around them.  SHBHU creates community volunteer opportunities called Compassion Missions that are sparked by the minds of Small Handers and Ambassador Teens throughout the Triangle. We also act as a resource for youth to propose, organize and lead Compassin Projects for causes they are personally passionate about locally and globally. These programs are made accessible logistically, financial, without time restraints and without age restrictions. SHBHU has a mission to help nurture the next kind, compassion and philanthropic generation leading the world.

They have also held garage sales and partnered with organizations to help recent Afghan Refugees and groups like the Texans Diaper Bank and Baby cycle to help families recover from past hurricanes in many special ways.

Hearts to Others: Ambassadors have recently expanded this committee to include Fottprints for Compassion to animals and our Earth. The familiies in this committee focuses on compassion to animals and the environment through leading Compassion Projects for the SPCA of Wake County and to reduce NEGATIVE carbon footprints on earth.

Ambassador “Passing the Torch” Committee: The Ambassador Teens in this committee are empowered and encouraged to gain additional leadership, fundraising, and mentorship skills to propose and lead their own Compassion Missions and Projects they are passionate about.  They act as important role models to the younger Small Handers and help run the nonprofit overall. We could not do this without these amazing and inspiring teens!
