Join us on June 10, 2017, for the Food Shuttle Garden Gallop 5K to benefit the Camden Street Learning Garden! We welcome everyone of every age! Run it, walk it or even push a stroller.
The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is an innovative hunger-relief organization serving seven counties in and around the Triangle. We believe hunger is fixable if the community works together to do two things: create sources of healthy food in every low-income neighborhood and grow opportunities for people to provide for themselves by learning job skills or growing their own food.
This community garden hosts over thirty Southeast Raleigh community gardeners and is home base for the Food Shuttle’s urban agriculture educational programs, including Seed To Supper and Junior Master Gardeners. People in the community are given access to land, seeds, water, tools, and gardening experts who will teach them how to produce a lot of food in a small amount of space.
All proceeds from the race will be donated to the Camden Street Learning Garden to provide these resources to families living in the food desert.
