Routes & Format
The Mountain Ride is a loop ride event, with routes beginning and ending at Brevard College.  The event begins on Friday afternoon with a 15-20 mile warm up ride that is available from 1pm-5pm.  Once your legs are warmed up, you'll be all set to spend Saturday and Sunday meandering along the valleys and/or climbing the mountains on one of our various route options ranging from 15 miles to 62 miles.  The best part is that the routes begin and end from the same location, so there's no hassle of moving camp each day!  The newly opened Ecusta Trail, which will eventually connect Brevard to Hendersonville will be featured for some flat-riding options.  But don't worry, there will be plenty of climbing options as well, and of course chances to see some of the many waterfalls Transylvania County has to offer!  We encourage you to come experience this unique location from the seat of your bicycle!

About Brevard

Transylvania County isn't known as the Land of Waterfalls for nothing!  There are 250 cascades throughout the county, many of which are easily accessible on bike from Brevard, the county seat and host town of this year's Mountain Ride. Brevard is a lively small town tucked into the Appalachian hills of Western North Carolina.  Downtown Brevard features live music, boutiques, cafés, art galleries, and eclectic shops line the streets of our town, all with a distinctly Brevard flare.  With the campsite at nearby Brevard College, the oldest college in Western NC, you are just steps away from experiencing all Brevard has to offer.
