I'm a new TNT member and I'm interested in doing some open water swim training. Is there a group here in Lincoln that goes out to Branched Oak Lake or another nearby lake? I know Race Omaha has a good setup for open water swims, I was just hoping to find something closer.

Club Bylaws Responsible: Kendra will file for the NP Status. The Board will create Articles of Incorporation and Club Bylaws.
Kendra has EIN and will resubmit NP status, since it has expired. Action approved by the board.
Discussion: Kendra has application for EIN to apply for non- profit status. Historically, the club never got NP status. Our EIN IS inactive and we need to reapply. Benefits of NP Status: 1. No tax on revenue, 2. Can accept donations. 3. Less liability.
Prior to submission we must have our Articles of Incorporation and Club Bylaws completed.
The board agreed to keep the Articles of Incorporation separate from Club Bylaws.
During the meeting we began drafting the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. Included was further refinement of the board positions, which were approved unanimously by the board.
Part of the treasurers responsibility will be to ensure the IRS form 990- EZ is submitted annually for Non-Profit status.
Mission statement development: ACTION Needed
Club Documents and Access The board agreed to use Google Drive and Google Docs to house all club documentation and minutes.
Google user ID: teamnebraskatriathlon, Pword- tntdynomite
Gerald is removing names of prior treasurer and officers from the bank account and updating access for Caleb and himself.
The board agreed to maintain hard copies of key club information: NP status, tax forms, etc. Deb volunteered to organize and maintain those files after Gerald does an initial cleanup.
Swim training location, swim permits
This agenda item was not discussed and will be deferred to our next meeting.
We did discuss membership meetings twice a year- spring and fall; these can be social events with training or coaching presentations, giveaways etc. Kendra, will coordinate. We agreed to plot out details at our next meeting because we feel this needs to occur pre-season.
Insurance This agenda item was not discussed and will be deferred to our next meeting.
Crave Relationship In 2014 we never ordered from Crave. We owed them an order but we can instead, purchase the vector TNT artwork. Gerald will follow through with that. Cost will be approximately $500. Action was approved by the board.
